The Savior.
I woke up with the desire in my heart to just worship. Worship and listen to God and His word. It started with a dream I had last night when we were at some non-existent empty part of Disneyland. I was sitting with some friends who were doing there own thing when I started singing “How He Loves,” without any intention or idea of having anyone sing along with me. But then these two girls came and sat with me and we started to sing in PERFECT harmony and it sounded so angelic. SO angelic that crowds of people ran over to listen to us and sing along!
Then I think I heard God say to me, “You see my child, when you sing and worship without the intention of having anyone sing along, then everyone will join in with you.”
Amazing.
So as I was listening to a ton of Jesus Culture music, I started to think about how much I want all my friends and family to truly ENCOUNTER God as I have encountered Him. So that they can EXPERIENCE what it TRULY FEELS LIKE TO BE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD. Just thinking about it excites me beyond words. I want everyone I encounter to encounter the heaviness and weightiness of God. I want all my tumblr followers to feel that. I wish everyone in the world could feel that! It is indescribable.
In the midst of my thoughts and fervent desire for all of this, I felt God tell me to stop trying to rush when people encounter Him.
It reminded me how easily it is for us to want so desperately for everyone to encounter Jesus NOW. We have the RIGHT NOW, HURRY, YOU’RE MISSING OUT mentality.
But GOD can do things 100000000 times better than we can.
He KNOWS when the heart of His child is ready to be encountered by the love of God.
He KNOWS the situation they will be in that will completely open their hearts to feeling His presence.
Who are we to force that on people?
All we are meant to do is DISPLAY the love of God.
We are meant to love people the way that JESUS did because THAT is the only real way to bring people to know or even slightly understand who God is.
Too many of us get waaaay too caught up in, “I want you to know exactly what I have found in Jesus! It’s so crazy you need it NOOOOOW!”
We need to understand that not everyone is ready for that.
All we should be doing is reflecting how God has changed us. That is what will catch people’s attention. Not our words.
