I’m turning 18 on thursday and you know what that means? Cotillion.
My mom wants me to have one. If you don’t know what a Cotillion is, it’s basically a big celebration of a filipino girl’s 18th birthday. It’s like a sweet 16 or a quinceanera. It’s extremely formal. Just like prom. You need an escort, 18 girls (candles) and 18 guys (flowers), who have to be really close. You can also invite other people. The 36 guys and girls will say something about you and wish you good luck. Each guy will dance with the girl. Dinner and desert and appetizers will be served. There might be a bar for people 21 and over. Performances. Then dancing. Just like prom or something or a dance. There will be a dj.
I have a lot of problems with having a cotillion. 1. I go to a small school, therefore I know less people. 2. I’m extremely shy and terribly awkward, therefore I know less of the small school. 3. I don’t like dancing. 4. I’m not an outgoing person 5. some people whom i want to invite live in a different state or even country (family friends/family). 6. I’m really a reserved type unless I feel comfortable, which doesn’t happen often. 7. I barely talk to guys. 8. I believe everyone gets tired of me and forgets me. 9. I’m more insecure than I look.
